The upper "guide” pulley has a lot of friction. I checked to make sure the gasket wasn't pinched by the metal washer. After a few months of use it got worse.

If they pull at first, just put a drop of silicone grease on them. The ceramic bearings ensure good and crisp shifting compared to my old 105 pulleys.

I bought these because of the ceramic bushing (top) and sealed ball bearings (bottom). Nice hub upgrade in both Shimano 105 pulleys.

Didn't expect to have to take them off and lube them but I did after a few dry mountain bike rides. I don't know which, upper or lower, but I filled both with lithium grease. upset.

As a replacement part in a cracked Shimano Ultegra 10 speed pulley, it worked well. I later discovered that the cost of the derailleur and pulleys was only $6 more. Next time I would swap the whole block. It was easy to switch and works well. Appears to be an OEM part.

Upper "hub" pulley does not rotate smoothly. I thought it would break after a while but no, after a few months it became very stiff and the metal caps on the washers rusted too! I opened it up and added lube which shouldn't be needed and it's a little bit better. I wonder if this is fake?

On my 2007 Ultegra 9 speed road bike I'm trying to reduce energy loss on the road (I know buying a new bike might be easier ;-) I have clogged pulleys noticed didn't work loose enough that I figured a quick win would be to replace them. To my dismay and subjective "measurements", these brand new pulleys showed no less friction than the old dirt-filled pulleys.
