🚴 Upgrade Your Cycling Performance with SHIMANO Ultegra R8000 Clamp-On Front Derailleur Review

Shimano excellence as usual. This derailleur replaced a 35 year old Dura Ace that has served us well. I was amazed at how smooth it shifted and didn't miss a single shift after driving it 200km a week.

Replaced Ultegra 6800 with 8000 derailleurs as the 6800 lever was rubbing on my rear tire. MUCH easier to set up than the 6800. Still a little annoying, but that's to be expected. Switching works perfectly.

No instructions but thank goodness there are instruction videos on YouTube! I looked at a few and just installed these. Jumped on the bike and didn't have to do a single adjustment. Surprisingly easy to install and get it right the first time.

Shimano have completely revised their derailleurs. And they are wonderful. Bought another one for my other road bike. i like them both If you have an 11 speed gearbox feel free to upgrade to these.

Worked with Sram Force FD and the chain was thrown over the large sprocket, between the large and small sprockets and off the small sprocket. I had two bike mechanics to adjust it and still had the same problem. Said not to cross the chain. Even that didn't work. I installed the Shimano FD following a few instructions and guess what, no problem. Shifts up and down no matter what reverse gear I'm in. Works perfectly! It took a long time to change.

The trim function on the older 6800 system was a bit patchy due to the tension angle of the cable. The seatpost angle either made it a little worse or a little better, but it was finicky at best. The 8000 series offers direct line tension, eliminating the need for a barrel adjuster and simplifying setup. Now my trim function works as intended.
