My kayak had a cheap handle that I wasn't very comfortable with. I bought them and installed them on my kayak. They come with screws and locknuts for assembly and it only took a few minutes to install using a drill to drill holes in my kayak. You can add silicone to the holes if you like, but I haven't noticed any water coming through the holes yet. The handle and fabric are very durable and make steering the kayak easier. Great product would buy again.

Great product Great price

They are great I have added them to my Sun Dolphin Aruba 8 SS kayak. (27 pounds). Sturdy handles, easy to install and now makes my kayak much easier to carry. Like carrying a big suitcase. I used stainless steel bolts and locknuts, and used a 1/8 inch piece of aluminum tape for extra strength. I may have exaggerated because if you watch the YouTube video, rivets are the most commonly used. UPDATE 8/2017: I've been using them for over a year now and they haven't had any issues, the handles areโ€ฆ

Ocean Kayak Replacements

Using these as replacement grips for sun bleached originals on my Ocean Kayak Venus. They fit perfectly. However, I did not use the supplied hardware. Since the originals were riveted, I bought 3/16" aluminum rivets to do the job (which also meant buying a rivet gun). The hardest part of the process was removing the old handles from the kayak. I used a set of nails, to push the old mandrel back through the hole in the boat but only one of the rivet heads had just come loose.I used a power multi

Excellent grips with 4 attachment points on the grip.

These are well made handles and very strong. I particularly like that there are two latches on each side of the handle, which helps keep the handle secure. Since my kayak weighs almost 100 pounds, I did not use the included hardware and instead used marine grade rivets. For lighter kayaks, the included screws will likely work. No problem lifting the kayak off the ground with one handle, very safe. With both handles on either side, I can easily maneuver the kayak in my roof rack system, which Iโ€ฆ

They are not the same as in the photo (good for me)

I almost didn't order them because they look cheap. Most of the pens on Amazon seemed to look the same, so I decided to order them anyway. This is my lucky day because mine don't look like the photo and I think they look a lot better. The material looks very solid, the end pieces are made of HART plastic, the handle is made of rubber material. I believe there is a giant metal/plastic rod in the middle, but I won't take it apart to find out. They do NOT flex (which is great). I think the silverโ€ฆ

Easy to install.: Kayaking Accessory

New to Kayaking. I bought a Pelican Argo 100 kayak, I really like it, but I found that it needs handles. I studied Revain and chose these pens. Got it fast (Revain Prime). It came with mounting hardware, but I decided to upgrade to stainless steel screws and washers (as other reviews have stated). However, I used wing nuts because I thought it might be a little difficult to get the nuts under the bolts. I was right. Nuts were much easier. I was able to hold them with my hand while tighteningโ€ฆ
