I got a Stubby. for my opinion

.for my MX-5. This Stubby really updated the look of my 14 year old roadster. It looks so much better. Twisted the old one off and twisted this one on. FITS PERFECT, LOOKS AWESOME AND IT'S CHEAP. Why are you still reading? Order it!

Pros
  • Installs in 30 seconds. Works as well if not better than stock antenna.
Cons
  • May affect GPS signal strength

Much needed change good for me

I have an ND (2020) Miata and this is a much needed upgrade / change. The whip antenna just throws off the whole aesthetics of the car. The antenna was easy to install and works as expected. The only thing to note is the words "Stubby" are etched into the metal at the bottom of the antenna. I wish this was just all black with no etching but I was able to turn it towards the body of the car and hide the words. I prefer the cleaner look of this antenna.

Pros
  • ✔ BUILT TO LAST FOREVER: The Stubby is All Metal. Machined out of billet aluminum & then powder coated with a durable black textured finish that will not fade break or chip. Stainless hardware eliminates corrosion
Cons
  • Not as stable as taller antennas

Looks good but only works with very strong signal

As suspected, this is a triumph of form over function. Looks great and is well made in America. Price was reasonable. But it can't even pick up stations in the same city - my auto-scan found maybe six out of 20+ stations available, and that was in a good reception area. So if you get really strong reception and never go out of town, might be fine for you

Pros
  • Replacement Parts
Cons
  • Difficult to install in certain locations

CravenSpeed Stubby Antenna

The antenna is a an exact replacement for the stock model. It is a much better looking antenna as it is much shorter giving my car a more sporty look. As far as performance goes, I tested the reception on my radio and it picks up local stations just fine. I can't attest to it's long range performance or it's ability to pull in non-local stations as I listen to SiriusXM exclusively, which has it's own antenna, but I sure like the way it looks and if Mazda reads these reviews, take a hint from…

Pros
  • Made from high-quality materials for durability
Cons
  • May not fit securely on all car models

Sound is okay but style is 💯

Honestly, the sound comes and goes sometimes and it’s not even that bad. I do love that the style of it is small and it just looks much better and more of the year. I have a 2014 Mazda MX-5 Miata grand touring and it fits great. Looks amazing, recommend if you want a more of a stylish type of antena and if not then maybe try a different one for better quality for sound.

Pros
  • Guaranteed to last for a long time
Cons
  • Reduced functionality during power outages

Easy to install, came with chips in the paint.

Easy to install, the only gripe I have is the finish on the product. It came with chips in the paint almost like its a used part.

Pros
  • ✔ RECEPTION IS KEY: If you are curious about reception; read the reviews. Although some folks have had trouble, it is actually really uncommon. If you are not completely satisfied with your Stubby, we make return super simple
Cons
  • May not be as reliable as stock antenna

Better than stock! - my new review

Bought to replace the ugly long attenna my car came with when I bought it & I couldn’t of been happier, pretty solid antenna. Will update on how the radio signal is, bought from this company for my tc before & never had an issue with signal. 1990 miata w/o a power antenna.

Pros
  • Lightweight, so it does not add any significant weight to the Miata
Cons
  • Reduced performance during traffic jams

Nice looking but Poor Radio reception!

Radio reception is poor with this antenna! The customer service was no help to resolve the problem. They offer for me to return it - Waited but the return-label never arrived even after I called & left messages. 👎👎👎👎👎

Pros
  • Does not affect the car's radio or satellite signals
Cons
  • Limited range for emergency radio broadcasts

Hear me out.: my feedback

I'm giving this a rather generous review. The main thing is concerning reception. It will NOT pick up as strong of a signal, no matter what others may tell you. I've been through two factory-length antennas, and just put this one on it. I live in a large city with a lot of FM stations that came in well on my factory antenna (and the replacement one, also factory,) and this li'l "Stubby" just isn't long enough to pick up the same transmissions as well as my dilapidated originals would…

Pros
  • Perfectly fits Mazda Miata 2006-2022 models
Cons
  • May require regular readjustment
