It's not worth it. best mics and accessories

This Shure is trying to lure people into buying what they think is the smaller SM7B that they see everyone using for $250. I used Samson CO1U ($100) for years and then switched to Rode NT-USB ($170). I saw this microphone with voice isolation, touch control, etc. and decided to try it. I've wanted to get the SM7B for years, but haven't lost a lot of money yet. Positive: - Predominantly solid processing quality. Others have commented on the thinness of the windshield. I agree it could be betterโ€ฆ

This microphone is perfect for my use case and the key to your decision. USE THE CASE! If you're looking for a quality XLR SM7B, this isn't it. The sound difference between XLR and USB mode is almost zero. This makes it a great USB mic, but a very limited XLR mic. The software worked flawlessly and works as expected. I had problems with audio playback through the headphone jack, but it was my fault as I had set the wrong Hz value in my PC settings. It took a call to support to find out. Theโ€ฆ

Permanent setup required, tested on Mac, Linux and Windows

This microphone works primarily on a Linux laptop. I mainly use a very recent Lenovo T14 with 5.8 and 5.10 kernels running Ubuntu OS (specifically Kubuntu based on Debian). On Windows and Linux computers, I often have to go in and adjust the playback sample rate, otherwise the pitch is very low. The Shure website has an official page for setting this up for Windows. The Linux solution is lengthy and painful. The microphone comes with two cables: USB Micro to USB-A and USB Micro to USB-C. Whenโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Done
Cons
  • Some issues

I'll start by saying that the Shure MV7 is an excellent USB mic, given the clarity of the Die Voice and overall audio output is an (obvious) improvement over your regular laptop's built-in microphone. It's positioned as a podcast mic, although even I'm not in that camp. Instead, all I needed was a high quality USB microphone for video conferencing and lecture recording at my college. My previous USB mic was a Zoom H1 recorder, and after weeks of daily online meetings, I realized how much better

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly crumpled

I can't stop being happy with the purchase, a very good deal!

Shure is a proven quality brand. Those who were interested in microphones know what kind of company it is. MV7X has only 1 connector, namely XLR. The main thing if you take do not confuse the versions of microphones. If you want a more detailed description of the microphone, this is for you on YouTube, there are a lot of reviews from foreign bloggers. If you do not know the language, use the Ya browser there is a built-in video translator (voice).

Pros
  • - design - quality - brand
Cons
  • - pop filter (passes some sounds, it's better to replace it) - XLR connection. It is more comfortable on SM7B.
