Great tool at a reasonable price

Works like a charm, no drama. This is my M-14 archival data store now (except the magazine doesn't fall when you least expect it). .Whatever you do, unless you want to spend three days learning how to use free data extraction software, never forget to format a new external hard drive or USB drive before downloading data onto it. Sounds obvious, but it's easy to forget. You just forget about this when you download important data to it then your computer will tell you that it cannot read the…

Works great, but the lifespan (for me) is only about 1 year.

Worked great but only for a year :( I couldn't mount it manually. I used it a few times a week so maybe that's why it didn't last as long as my backup drives (the I use 4 times a year). But I've used it and taken it everywhere with me for a year and it's worked great. If you get it, make sure you back it up, especially as your deadline approaches a year .

As described: new, some storage, good health, working;

Although I bought it as a gift, I connected it to the XBox One first. I then decided to run CrystalDiskInfo to confirm the specs. It had: 0 hours of use, 2 watts on the bill (before connecting to Xbox, then PC for testing), USB 3.0 capabilities as described, and speed (5400) rpm. Health was good. The device was quiet and aesthetic. XBox One requires a friend and still works perfectly. I used to buy a SiliconPower drive (MLC SSD) for my PC's OS drive. Had this drive for 1 year and it works…

Don't waste money and time.

When I received this product and plugged it in it said the drive had a fault and I need my computer to fix it before I could use it. Before bed I stored about 16GB on this 1TB drive. When I turned on my computer the next day, the drive only showed 32GB of space. I deleted everything on it and it still said 32GB. I restarted my computer and nothing changed. There is no way to reload the disk. Physical or electronic, so a replacement had to be called. The device gives me an error message every…

Poor quality does not correspond to the declared!

Don't buy, be careful. I previously tried to write an honest follow-up review and it was withdrawn. To this day, no one can explain why. Probably because I didn't like Revains politics. Here's the story. I bought it in September 2014. I needed an external hard drive and after looking at it I figured it would be the ticket. Well built, durable, impact resistant, wow. I only used it for occasional backups, but I liked the stats. So after accidentally using it as a backup it dies, just get out…

This is an honest account of what I just experienced: 1. The software required to operate the hard drive is located located on the manufacturer's website, but cannot be downloaded until you provide an email address (okay, never mind). give them permission to email you PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS in the future. It kind of sucks in my opinion, but wait! This is just an annoying obstacle.2. The software required to run the password protection software is on their website and is listed in English. This…
