Perfect upgrade for the old metal mesh fender

Much better than the metal fender it replaced. It's easy to clean, the handle folds down for easy storage, and it's big enough to cover my pots. I've put it in the dishwasher which has resulted in some rusting on the metal hardware to allow the handle to be folded, but I can live with that.

Will not cover a 12 " pan! :(

As you can see in the picture it's definitely not 12.5" but 11.75". I bought it specifically to cover my 12" pan. I was very disappointed! I still used it as I was about to use it that day, but the fat was still sloshing out of the pan as the strainer didn't fully cover my 12" pan.

Easier to clean than my old metal grille!

We have had a metal mesh splash guard for many years; and to be honest, it got a little gross. I love silicone in the kitchen and this splatter guard is another great example of this improved version of the old trusty stuff we used so often. It keeps off bacon splashes well and is easy to clean with washing-up liquid and a soft sponge. You don't have to rub and wonder if it's really clean.

The handle that connects to the disc is weak and breaks easily.

Bought as my old one was due to retire (2 years of use), bought this one because the folding handle looked neat. That's how I got it out of the plastic. Has never been used. The shipping box is intact. The shanks of the stylus feel weak due to the weight of the disc and stylus. I know that condensation during cooking will make the disc heavier. So if it breaks before then I'll have to see what happens to all that weight. We're working on a refund. I need to find a printer to print a shipping…

yes it is good for kitchenware and gadgets

Advantages: very easy to clean; prevents splashes in the pan; appears to be fairly heat resistant; well maintained; keeps well in the pan. Cons: Due to the material and ventilation, the colander collects a large amount of condensate, which affects cooking. I have used it when cooking ground beef and it has worked very well; This prevented splattering and condensation wasn't a major issue as it kept the meat moist. However, when frying (e.g. bacon or anything with a lot of oil) condensation will
