Not as cool as I thought

Polishing a few silver pieces is a lot of work and once that was done I gave them a proper polish finish. There's so much going on that proves that the first step with these cymbals didn't work. I polished plates and small cups, maybe they were too big. I suspect these magic plates work better with smaller items like cutlery. If you have a lot of silver, you'll need to change the water frequently, which means LOTS of boiling water and LOTS of baking soda. The baking soda will catalyze the…

Silver chains sparkle again!

This plate is great for cleaning silver jewelry. The package says to use baking soda, but you really have to use washing soda. Laundry detergent contains washing soda. Add some boiled water and you're good to go! I don't use it on brittle stones like opal and I don't use it on glued stones because boiling water can ruin the glue.

Works better than expected. Use washing soda, not baking soda.

Removes most tarnish from a silver tea set. This is particularly useful for removing tarnish from decorative areas. A few tips: 1. The amount of water to be used is not specified in the instructions for use. They indicate the use of baking soda. Per other reviews, I used a bowl 2/3 full of hot water and a few good shakes of WASHING SODA instead of baking. Next time I think I'll try a 5 gallon bucket to fully submerge my coffee pot and tray.
