    Top for the price!: Cutlery

    I have bought several types of black silver over the last few years and this is absolutely the BEST value of them all! Take her! Steak knives are lame, but otherwise everything is fine!

    The color is well suited for the kitchen and dining room.

    Many people like it but the color fades almost immediately. I don't have a dishwasher so I know it's not something like that. They're not bad overall - the color doesn't bother me too much, but I'm sure it will drive me crazy in the end.

    Rusts/flakes easily for cutlery

    Bought for my sister as a housewarming gift. She didn't move in until the return window was closed and started using her on June 18th. And they're not home half the month, and they rust and flake. It was probably a maximum of 1 month of use. Sad because she just LOVES them, the lighting doesn't make them look black in the photo but you can see them rusting.

    Black coating comes off with food - DO NOT BUY

    PLEASE DO NOT BUY - can be harmful They look great when you buy them but after three months they lose their black coating. They have never been machine washed, only hand washed. I can only assume that we picked up the black coating while using it. I can't imagine the coating being that good for your innards.

    Already looking rusty/worn

    Really disappointed with this cutlery, especially considering all the great reviews. They look and feel great, but I've only had them for three weeks and almost every dish has what appears to be rust spots. I can't tell if it's the black coating that's peeling off or something else, but it makes all my cutlery look dirty. Whether I wash them by hand or put them in the dishwasher. I'll throw it away and buy something else.

    Terrible Product: Cutlery

    This cutlery set is terrible. The only good thing about it is the steak knives. Every second piece is garbage. They say they can be washed in the dishwasher but I've had mine for a month now and the butter knives have rust on the teeth and the spoons and butter knives have silver spots where the black has worn off. Unfortunately I missed my return window by a few days so I guess I'm attached to them and will just throw them out when they go bad. Don't waste money!

    Erasing the coating

    After a few months of daily use, I liked the set as a whole, but some items have had their black coating erased. I don't have a dishwasher so I have to hand wash every time. Knowing I can't use anything with hard bristles or surfaces, I use a soft sponge with Dawn dish soap and soak it if there's a crust, otherwise I can't wash them right away. Always proceed as gently as possible, but also clean the dishes. Remember that the coating will wear off even if you are overly gentle with it.
