I washed before use as I do all bedding I buy. I took it out of the dryer right after drying and was very disappointed. First, he was so wrinkled, and I expected that to a certain extent. I tried ironing them to get rid of some of it because I finally wanted this type of comforter to look a little wrinkled. Lots of time with some success. However, while ironing, I found a few holes in the duvet which I describe as a quality issue and ended up sending it back.

The linen is very nice and soft, it washes and dries well. I have 2 cats and for some reason their hair doesn't get caught in the fabric which is a nice plus. The size fits well with the deep mattress that rests on my bunk bed. As you can see from the photos, it hangs well on the sides. I ordered an anthracite colour. I'd say it's your dark gray side rather than your black side. It's a thicker linen material that will keep you warm and is more durable than your more luxurious linens. It feels stiff but softens after washing like most linen fabrics. I have used and compared linen bed linen from Simple&Opulence (SO), Sijo, Dapu and Ikea for the last 5 weeks. SO is second only to Sijo, the most expensive; Duvet cover SO has the best value for money. Although I occasionally change the linens for some seasonal changes (now I use flannel because it's COLD here in Massachusetts!), the comforter has been washed dozens of times with no issues.
