Yes indeed. on car and automotive electronics

Wow. Exactly what I needed for my 2017 MX-5. No extra wires to the fuse box or dangling wires to the cigarette lighter/plug. After plugging it in behind the rearview mirror, all I had to do was plug and unplug the USB cable into the dashcam. Easy.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Reliable

Expensive but time saver

I recently purchased this for my 2017 Infiniti QX60. This makes laying the power cable for the ash chamber very easy. It took me less than 5 minutes to install the dashcam including the power cord. I wish the cord was a bit longer, it's really short which makes the power cord for the mirror twist in a weird way. Also, $30 for what appear to be 3D printed and questionable parts. Time will tell how long this lasts.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Works great - 2019 Mazda CX5 with Homelink mirror

For a very long time I've had to either wire the "dome" lights on my car, build my own mirror tap, or use one of the many "run pins" along the side mirror wires to add usb power next to my rearview mirror this was by far the easiest way to do this to install a dash cam just research your mirror before you buy and it's as easy as unplugging the mirror that Plugging in the faucet and plugging in what was connected to the mirror.

  • Sleek design

  • Working speed

2012 Infiniti G37 Best in Car Video

Plug and play, clean solution with no modification to factory wiring. The accessory is powered by the USB port (turns on and off with the car). I got approx. 4.9 V with the car in the accessories, not measured with the car running. Powers my DVR with no problems (5V 1A). A little pricey for the components used, but worth it for the ease of use and clean install. The cable is very short, about 2 inches, making it easy to hide behind the rear view mirror.

Works as intended! Saves time when connecting the DVR to a backup.

Of all the cars I've owned, I've always had to run a set of wires from the fuse box on the pillar and roof of the car to have a "wireless install". The job is SUPER easy and I've never been happier with a product. If I could give 10 out of 5 I would. And everything is ready! Highly recommend this product. Thanks very much!

Overheating appears to be an assembly error

Very easy to hook up - I've used it to power an Anker Roav S1. The next day I was stuck in traffic and decided to check the key and it was super hot as bad/melted and my dashcam wasn't on anymore. I unplugged the DVR and the key/adapter was still hot, must have been a short circuit or something. I stopped, unplugged the adapter, and plugged the auto-dimming mirror back in. I returned the adapter for a refund. Disappointing as the solution is so elegant and simple. Update - After contacting the…

Works great in 1st gen Nissan Titan with Homelink mirror (2004-2015)

Bought this for my 2012 Nissan Titan SL 4x4 with Auto Dim/Homelink mirror. The application is very simple and takes 30 seconds. Disconnect the connector from the mirror, connect it to this wire harness, connect the other end of the wire harness to the mirror. Now you can take any type A USB cable, connect it to this harness and turn on the windshield mounted item. I wouldn't recommend using it for "fast charging" cell phones, but it should work well for low-power devices like dash cams or radar

Pros

Cons
  • Negative experience

Worked fine until it broke

The first one worked for about 3 weeks then the power to the DVR started flickering (cycled off and back on) and finally stopped powering the DVR . Article replaced by Revain. Swapping went on every 2 days with the same symptoms (turning on and off, LED on adapter flashing on and off) and then eventually died after flickering for about 5 minutes. I am very disappointed with the quality of the adapter, especially since it is a simple and elegant solution that works well, at least until it stops…

Will not work with Rexing V1 in 2020 Mazda6

I was on a trip to try and get my Rexing V1 to work with my Mazda6 202 but had no luck at all. I started with a monitoring adapter from the same company where you plug the wires into the back of the mirror connector. These pins weren't long enough and/or not receiving power so I returned them and replaced them with this connector. The connector was the right size and snapped satisfactorily into the back of my Homelink mirror, but when I plugged the USB into the dash cam and started the car, the
