Simple and Safe - Mandolins and Slicers

I had a more expensive mandolin and it was very uncomfortable to use (safety). I took a chance and used it to cut zucchini since I'm not supposed to be eating pasta. Worked great. I tried it with eggplant but wish the slices were a little thicker. But overall I'm happy with it and would recommend it.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Can I add something

Happy with my purchase.

Finally! Inexpensive mandolin with easily adjustable thickness. I love this tool. The guide also works well when you're running low on groceries. I find it difficult to hold/clamp things but this grip is strong enough for me. It's also razor sharp enough to get into all the little nooks and crannies and clean it.

Pros
  • There's something in there
Cons
  • confused

It doesn't work without him!

I'm making Julia Child's Sliced Braised Carrots for the holidays and this slicer is perfect for it. I cut the carrots into 2 inch pieces and slice the side. It has a loop that swings over the carrots and I just chop it up. It's much easier and faster. Great slicer that every kitchen should have! Arrived on time and product better than expected. Many Thanks

Pros
  • Regular Price
Cons
  • Expensive

Cheap construction

I understand that this is an alternative to the more expensive mandolin, but it is very cheaply made. It's thin in the hand and the mechanism that changes the width of the slot feels like it's going to break eventually. If you drop it it may break as the plastic is very thin. It's worth spending the money on a metal one instead of having to keep changing it.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Useless features

Need more detailed instructions

Very disappointed with this product. Extremely unfriendly instructions on the side of the box. I bought two with the intention of giving one away, but the first one broke when I tried to pull the blade out. I just saw the available video while searching where to leave a comment. Waste of money, I'll take the pen out of the box immediately. I hope my remaining product works as well as it cost me two mandolins.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Frequency

Sharp as a razor! Cut off my thumb! VERY SHARP!

SHARP razor blade! Does exactly what I wanted, which is to thinly slice apples and carrots to make fruit/veg chips! They also make great potato chips! Not thinking the pepper was stuck in the blade, I went to "flick" it with my thumb and ripped a chunk off the edge of my thumb! Don't blame the products! 100% MY fault! I wanted a razor sharp mandolin, that's what I got! I'll make some more chips once my thumbs heal! Love it! No complaints! No BS, that's drastic!

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • A long time ago
