That's terrible. They may be titanium coated but I have to wonder if the core is plastic. I've used Dritz and Schmetz needles for years, beating the crap out of them, and they've really stood up to my abuse: under-weight needles on heavy fabrics, not changing needles often enough, etc., and they've performed like champions. I bought these after reading the reviews. I didn't need it at the time, but I only had one needle left and I knew it was going to break sooner or later. That day was today. I sewed a denim shirt and this is a very heavy fabric due to its stiffness. Then the fabric folds in half and sewing becomes worse. My needle broke and I used purple for the rest of the sewing.
