I was skeptical but it really worked!

To install a 500GB SATA MX500 m.2 drive in a mid 2012 MacBook Air. I was skeptical that this would actually work as there are third party replacement drives with the appropriate onboard connector are much more expensive, but I was able to install the operating system from a USB stick and activate TRIM without any problems. Please note: Make sure you pair this with SATA m.2 SSD, NVME m.2 SSD doesn't work. The difficulty is comparable to any other laptop upgrade, there is a youtube video for this

Pros
  • Ease of Use
Cons
  • Legacy Model

It works but the lid is sticking out due to the size of the build

Thumbs up because it works and has allowed me to put a stock SSD module in a custom MacBook Air. The only problem is that the resulting assembly is too tall and the bottom cover sticks out and presses against the module. I ended up finding another adapter that was smaller and fit better.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • No insurance

Works in 2012 Macbook Air

This adapter is for my 2012 MacBook Air and Samsung Evo 850 M.2 SSD. I'm using a 512GB SSD with MacOS X El Capitan instead of the factory 128GB hard drive. The adapter adds a bit of thickness between the MacBook logic board and the base plate pedestal. With the adapter and SSD installed, the base cover will be pressed against the SSD when tightened. It fits just enough to screw in the bottom cover, but that puts more pressure on the flash chips. I hope this doesn't cause any long-term damage to

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • Expensive

Memory Card Accessory Adapt Memory Card

Fine. It's an adapter, I don't know what I was expecting. But it is what it is and what I bought, so the hood seller, the wrong choice on my part. Many Thanks.

  • Perfect for me

Worked great out of the box for memory card adapter

Installed this on my 2012 11" MacBook Air and it worked without any fuss. The SSD I used was Kingston A400 240G SATA M.2 2280 Internal SSD - SA400M8 /240G. " The downside is that, as others have written, the SSD sticks out more, causing the bottom of the case to push against the SSD enough that the center clip no longer snaps in place. I use my laptop as a stationary iTunes server exchange, so narrowness is not so important to me.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Concise instructions
