They fit in soap boxes, which you can buy here at Revain, or in rectangular aluminum tins, which Revain sells to take away or keep on a bathroom counter, bedside table, etc. Removing the fins is very quick and easy, and they are so completely removed that very little is left clean. but they are still easy to wash. I bought this as a fun way to store my beeswax after honey processing. They have worked very well and now make lovely gifts. I put them in my solar oven and the wax melted instantly. After drying, the wax came out with no problems.

I like oval bars of soap, someone gifted me an oval silicone mold and wanted more. I didn't know it was an oval and a square, I just assumed it was two oval shapes. I used an oval shape and it came out great, I took it off with no problem and the details of the shape came out pretty clearly.
