Worked right away with Rpi 4B 4GB

I bought an A1M8-R5 two years ago and have been very happy with its performance with the Rpi and Nano SBC families. The quality of the R6 model is just as good as that of the R5. I am using R6 with Rpi 4B 4GB with Donkeycar v 4.3 and the collection of distance/angle data is all I could wish for. I highly recommend A1M8-R6 if you can't find money for A2.

Great LIDAR development kit with simple but reliable functionality

I bought this to study and experiment with 3D images. Using the Slamtec SDK and basic OpenGL, I was able to create a real-time room measurement and display system on my Mac (macOS). The device is very quiet and comes with pins so you can place it on a table or bench, or attach it to a robot. Unfortunately Slamtec's (Robostudio) tools are only for Windows, but the SDK works for macOS, Linux and RPi. I tested on macOS. You can search Github for "OpenGL lidar display" for more information. Mounting screws not included

There is no way to install it, they didn't even provide the screws for it. The 3D model is in no way intended to design the attachment mechanism, so it was practically useless. And why put the cable on the bottom when you put it on a flat surface it won't even stand up straight on a flat surface, our first scans looked so wrong we thought the module was broken. The 3D model provided didn't even include the size of the screw so we couldn't find it at our local screw shop. I found it for my…
