Review on Slamtec RPLIDAR A1M8: High Performance 2D LIDAR Sensor for Robot Navigation and Obstacle Avoidance by James Jenkins

I bought this to study and experiment with 3D images. Using the Slamtec SDK and basic OpenGL, I was able to create a real-time room measurement and display system on my Mac (macOS). The device is very quiet and comes with pins so you can place it on a table or bench, or attach it to a robot.
