Invest a little more in another sensor

There was a problem with the sensor reading something on the humidity side. If you are looking for something for Arduino or a temperature and humidity sensor I would suggest you check out https://www.adafruit.com/products/1899 ("Adafruit HTU21D-F, Temperature and Humidity Sensor"). pennies and spend an additional $7. I bought this sensor when this sucks and I read the ideal temperature and humidity as well as FAST (0.25 seconds). The fastest DHT22 sensor that can send data is 1 to 2 seconds.

  • Temperature Probes & Sensors

  • Disappear

Great temperature/humidity sensors!

I have three of these sensors, right now they are connected to the breadboard, yes they are slow to respond to temperature changes but for a DIYer like me they are just perfect. The normal temperature does not change that quickly. For a lab or industrial setting, that's a different story. I compare them to the Sparkfun HIH6130 which is 4x the price of this sensor and these guys are reporting basically the same readings. They're slow compared to the Sparkfun HIH6130, like I said, but not that…

Pros
  • Temperature and Humidity
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Good sensor for a good price.

Okay, I've tried several different humidity sensors without much success. I use the sensor in a dry box with dehumidified air. The lower limit of other sensors I've had was around 15% humidity, although I knew the humidity was less than 1% (calibrated with bottled gas). I put this in a dry box and it quickly dropped to 1%. 1% is the lower limit for this sensor. I used the appropriate guides from adafruit to set up this module with the Arduino. It has been working 24/7 for a month without any…
