My dog is about 7 pounds. This dog collar might be great, but there's no way to pull it around your neck tight enough to put pressure on the vocal cords. We were as close as we could get and there was still a gap. This causes the device not to work no matter how high we set the sensitivity. It also causes a hit or miss when the dog actually barks, and because it doesn't touch the skin, the dog is out of sync due to beeps and vibrations. Loved this collar that helps with barking. It seemed to work fine for a few days. Then my dog could bark for five minutes without removing the collar. It was fully loaded. The settings were where I needed them and they touched his skin so they weren't hanging around. I bought this collar for my 7 lb short haired chihuahua and he has contained his barking quite well to the point where I just have to stretch the collar with it he sees it and stops barking. The mechanism should fit snugly against the dog's neck and will not stay in place unless the collar is too tight around the neck.
