Definitely small

Difficult to measure accurately, so this pouch holds 2 x 4 ounce stacked skeins with little room for anything else. So definitely better for smaller projects. Haven't used the waist belt yet but it seems sturdy so hopefully it will work for my knitting while hiking. ETA: Now I use it while walking. Straps are strong, everything works great!

The outer loop is great for tying to a chair back.

This is the only bag I use for my current knitting projects. I bought two (one medium, one small) for different project sizes. I can use the medium size for small sweaters or large hoodies and the small size for socks or mittens. The inner loop ensures that the yarn never gets tangled. It is convenient to tie the outer loop to the chair handle during knitting. I keep all my thoughts in a little bag. Even needles and nails do not pierce the fabric.
