Expensive but worth it for my application.

Finally mounted the roof rack. Pretty expensive for what it is. It's practically a door hinge with 90 degree brackets with a long groove to adjust. I only ordered it because I didn't want to spend many hours welding my own at the right angle. It allows every angle. And adjustable height to handle the arc of most cars.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Fortifications, room for improvement.

Well these mounts look really cheap under a solid rack, they have to. Another fastening system without all the screws, also the brackets are not very rigid when connected after mounting on the hood. This is not my idea of the guard post mount (fixed). I will be making mounts to replace these as they tend to swing freely for a period of time. Sorry for the money, there must be another L design, pull up the Smittybilt. .

Pros
  • Rugged Finish
Cons
  • Repair

Okay but buy steel rivet nuts

Bought for my quarterback stance. This is a good mounting system that offers many adjustments for multiple vehicles. Better than what I could concoct at home. However, the supplied rubber bushings should be discarded and replaced with appropriate steel rivets and silicone sealant. 1-Year Update: The stand is still stronger than ever. Almost 20,000 miles, most of them driven to the limit with a loaded trunk. I had to re-siliconize once when I noticed rainwater seeping through.

Pros
  • nice touch
Cons
  • vaguely remember
