It's garbage. for fasteners

I gave this a 1 star because I couldn't rate it a 0. These are square drive heads and the head will not fit Kreg-Sq. DR. bit that had the head pulled out. If you could force any of them to have some torque, they were soft enough to bend. I bought these screws because they were from Kreg but they are ***** junk***> I also bought 1 1/4" screws, they were fine, rate them a 5. NOTE: 1 1/4" were marked as made in Tiawan. , 2 1/2 inches marked as made in China.

Pros
  • Maxi-Loc washer head for standard Kreg pocket holes
Cons
  • So far so good

Be careful when setting the drill

We used these in pocket holes to attach end caps to a long raised bed in our garden. Since they are stainless steel, they will outlive wood. They fit snugly and snugly in the joint except for one screw, as is typical of Kreg pocket hole joints. If you're going to use them in soft wood like pressure-proofing, which is what they're for, cordless drill. I set ours to 15 and screwed the screw right over the stop. I recommend using the value 12.

Pros
  • Coarse thread for soft woods such as pine; and for plywood, MDF, chipboard
Cons
  • No Instructions

Well suited for the task

I can't speak for other brands of countersunk screws but I can speak about disadvantages of stainless steel screws with no pocket in the pocket hole neck. Do not do that. All I had on hand were 2 1/2" countersunk stainless steel trim screws. Instead of putting my project on hold and buying the right materials, I used screws without a mating hole with poor results. The countersunk caused mine to... Workpiece cracked, which increased to an unacceptable level over the winter. I have since added…

Pros
  • Square shank head and self-tapping tip for easy driving without slipping bits, splitting wood
