This is Kreg's longest fine thread screw. I'm making a new countertop for our kitchen out of pecan, which is very hard. Fine-thread screws should be used for hardwood. My boards are about 1 1/4 inches thick. They usually use longer screws when the boards are over 1" thick, but since this is the longest I have to use them.
