GE Gas Oven Igniter Replacement - Perfect Fit!

I needed a new igniter to help a friend repair an old GE gas stove (JGSS05BEH1BB). The filament picture didn't quite match my part but I decided to give it a try as it also came with a 1 year warranty. Also, based on various product reviews, I was concerned that I might have to cut the wire clamp and use ceramic wire nuts, which I didn't want to do to make the final connections. Since the wedding cake oven needed repairs in time, I also ordered the smallest ceramic nuts I could find. Theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Socket Required

This is a stove lighter. Once you install it it will work and you will be very happy to fire up your stove again. It's just a detail you don't even think about until it fails and you can fire up your stove. The best thing about this igniter is its price, when I bought it was $22 and the original part for my GE XL44 ranges from $50 to $79 for one piece assuming you put it on yourself. I think the OEM part will be plug and play. So the connector ends up NOT matching what it should be connected to

Pros
  • Elegant design

  • So-so

Fits perfectly. - Parts & Accessories Assortment

I ordered this late Thursday evening and it arrived Saturday afternoon. I have a GE lineup that is about 4-5 years old. .2 screws hold the bottom of the oven. Remove and lift the back panel by pushing towards the back of the oven until the front edge of the bottom panel is under the front frame. Then lift them out of the way. You will see the igniter on the left rear of the burner tube, held in place by two more screws. Follow the wires and you will see a panel located in front of the gasโ€ฆ

Easy installation saves hundreds of dollars over a new oven!

Our old GE Profile JGB902BEH2BB gas oven started to fail and either took a long time to heat up or didn't heat up at all. After searching YouTube ("Kenmore Gas Oven Doesn't Get Hot") I was relieved to know that we probably didn't need to replace the oven, just that igniter. The exchange took about an hour just because of the many tests, but is easily completed in 10 minutes. lower pan - this shows the "Bake" igniter and gas tube (The "roast" igniter and gas tube are at the top of the ovenโ€ฆ

  • Pretty impressive

Fast shipping, correct item

I have an old GE range and the oven started misbehaving. The strong smell of burning propane was starting to sound like one of those jet engine-style propane heaters and the burner was taking a long time to light. Upon inspection, the burner had a 1/4 inch diameter hole just above the igniter with the hot surface and some debris touched the igniter. I repaired the smaller hole in this burner 7 1/2 years ago and replaced the igniter with one I bought from AppliancePartsPros. That burner fixโ€ฆ
