Broken glass! Beware! Heavily disappointed. This is my second sentence. The first sentence is still strong. A cover lost through wear. Decided to buy the same brand and model so that the top and bottom work together. Use my containers to store and reheat rice. Imagine my surprise when I discovered the rim of the Pyrex container in my rice!

I like this brand because the tops are easy to put on and take off which is important to me. Plastic sheets take time to dry (as with any plastic), which is a disadvantage. Another disadvantage is that they are only available as a set. I bought these for the small round containers I use a lot. I didn't need all the rest because I already have enough of them. Update: After 9 months of careful use, I have noticed that the lids easily crack or warp slightly so that they no longer snap tightly. All items have been air dried either by hand or in the top rack dishwasher only (no heat). Using the freezer makes the lids brittle and I have at least 1 crack. The other seems to have barely warped enough to no longer form a snug fit and secure latch. A similar product from IKEA appears to be more stable than the Snapware version. I looked at MANY different brands of glass storage containers and chose them based on comments from other owners. In addition, Pyrex has long been known for the quality of its glass, and many complaints about other brands have been about broken glass. I am absolutely satisfied with them! I have a lot of good things to say about these containers; They are naturally high quality and durable. My issue with them is that they don't really serve my main purpose of being both durable and light enough to carry around for lunch. When every ounce counts, the "extra" here goes too far: the glass is quite thick, and the wide "lip" - which I suspect prevents leakage - adds more weight and volume. It's also a memory issue.
