This screw should be handled with care. I smashed the heads of several of them. After adjusting the torque on my drill bit and being more careful everything worked fine. But they are not very hard. I would not use them as a base screw for PT artificial decking or hardwood decking. I used them on cedar railings.

I was looking for a screw strong enough to drill through hard wood without breaking it. They are strong and screw into red oak and hard maple without breaking! I also like the #2 square head. They always go in without slipping or loosening with my screwdrivers! All in all, this is a quality fastener for just about any woodworking project you can create!
