Exactly what I wanted - very strong/spacious yet light

I wanted a low profile tent for hiking/camping Consider this Snugpak Scorpion3, Snugpak Bunker and the USMC Combat Tent All 3 cost about $300 and do about the same The USMC Combat Tent is good but: --- 8.5 lb Trailer Weight --- 38 sq. ft and 45" tall (2 people) --- packs up to 9.5" x 24" (poles 24"! oops) Snugpak Scorpion3 (this tent): --- Trailer weight 6.5 pounds -- -? square feet and 48" tall (3 people) --- packs up to 8.25" x 17" (nice short 16" racks!) Choose this one because it's lighterโ€ฆ

My favorite weatherproof tent! (Examples)

In short I love this tent! Having spent 8 years in the military (literally living in a tent for 13 months) I am very thankful for a durable performance tent. Scorpion 3 is exactly that. I've had this tent for a few months and have taken it out 4 times now and it's officially my new option! Instead of talking about the features that you can find online I wanted to share my experience with this product. I used it under the following conditions: - Trip 1: Wasatch Rockies in January. elevationโ€ฆ

Comparatively inexpensive, durable 4-season tent

In the foreword to my review, 5 stars mean an almost perfect tent. This would be difficult to achieve by my standards. As for me, I prefer to use one of my hammocks and a tarp whenever possible as I find them more comfortable and easier to set up and pack. That being said, the Scorpion 3 is a really well made tent with excellent design features. The Scorpion 3 is a durable 4-season tent that can be pitched separately. It's not overly heavy by four-season tent standards, but weighs more thanโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Includes basic repair kit

I think this is the best tent I have ever had!

I only received this tent today and while it may be too early to review a product I have not used in the field I thought I would give my first impressions. I took this tent to the backyard and set it up. It was very easy to set up. There are three poles and each pole is color coded for a small piece of fabric at the end of the pole sleeve (2 identical poles with green pole selection matching two sections of green stripe and gray to grey). This tent is the first tent. Installing the bow tie wasโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Anodized DAC Featherlite NSL poles
Cons
  • A newer model could have been chosen
