I spent an hour with Lee in tech to connect this scanner to my iPad and our new ordering system. It didn't work and he told me it was a new ordering system. It turns out that the old system of order doesn't work either. Not to mention that their technical phone system is terrible! When you call it goes to voicemail after 1 minute and asks you to leave a message. They don't tell you opening times when you call. We bought this to use with our square iPhone/iPad app. The connection is very complicated, the application does not recognize it, you scan the barcode in the application and nothing. Tried to connect via Bluetooth, nothing. Then all of a sudden it connects, it's not clear how, and it works until the iPhone/iPad goes to sleep or either the scanner goes to sleep and then tries to connect again.
