Installation of a separate CO2 tank

Just set up a Soda Stream source and it works great. Replaced the CO2 bottle with a 5 lb CO2 bottle from Airgas and connecting hose and fittings from CO2 Doctor. I also bought a few extra bottles and a pump dispenser. The savings and convenience of a separate tank far outweigh the additional initial cost.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Doubtful

Bare Bones But Works

Works as advertised. However, the tiny mini CO2 bottle that comes with it (as many have mentioned) lasts for about 4 refills before it runs out. It's false advertising to say a 60 liter CO2 bottle is included when in reality you're getting a discount on a bottle and then have to buy it elsewhere. I also don't realize that there are no instructions. I figured it out but ended up making a mess trying to do it.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • I will say nothing

Easy to use and great results

It's easy to use once you know how to pressurize bottles. I made the mistake that others have noticed as a result of a wet, dirty countertop. Press and release, then press and release again, and if you're looking for real lemonade, press a third time. Does exactly what it says. This offers amazing flexibility. Want pre-packaged flavors? Sugar free or not? Fruit juice? You get that flexibility, and Pinterest has tons of links for drink ideas too. Please note it comes with a starter CO2 cartridge

NEW AND IMPROVED = FAILED AND ANNOUNCED

I loved the first generation Soda Stream and used it every day until it finally died. Replaced it with this one which is a design disaster and fails regularly. No written instructions are provided, only illustrations that do not come close to explaining the intricacies required to operate this newly developed machine. I called tech support and although the lady I spoke to was patient and explained the exact technique needed to keep the machine from splashing water on the kitchen counter, it…

That's what you want and here's why And about replacement cartridges

READ THIS if you consider the total cost of using this unit. What I read NOWHERE is CO2 cartridges and also the discounts (thanks) offered with this starter kit. Replacement cartridge prices are quite expensive - $30-40! I called mfgr - a very professional representative explained how everything works. They take the starter CO2 that comes with the kit to Walmart (or Target) customer service and charge you $14.99 for a full-size replacement CO2 cartridge (and you give them a "starter" CO2…

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Bad set

I bought this SodaStream second hand so it didn't have any of the flavors. All that was in the box was a water bottle and SodaStream, that's all I'll look at. Advantages: 1. Easy to use. As it was in use it didn't have an instruction manual but the instructions were written on top of the machine and I had no trouble getting it to work. 2. Airtight! During the carbonation, I didn't hear or see any sign of a leak between the bottle and the machine. I didn't see any water leaks or hear hissing, so
