I got this CD player last summer (a year ago) and it's still as good as it was then. I got an older CD player from them years ago and it's still in the same condition. I use headphones to record meditations. I had this item when they first came out but it was stolen from me. This was priced right. The battery compartment does not work, but the power adapter is included. Anyway, I had no intention of using batteries. Gave 5* for battery life - because when my original unit was new I never had to change them. Also, there were no headphones in the kit, but I already had them. This player looks great and sounds great. It's a lot slimmer than it looks in the photos. The sound quality is excellent. The included headphones sound great, but hey, maybe it's just me, but they really keep my ears warm. It's almost like wearing headphones. This Discman does its job well. I bought this to replace a 1994 Panasonic portable CD player and was pleasantly surprised at how much better it is. Battery life is MUCH longer. I didn't really count, but the claimed 16-hour battery life sounds something like that. I used to always use the Panasonic power supply, but I don't even bother with this discman.
