A few questions. suitable for data cartridges

Some reviews mention dropouts. I noticed these too. Not tons, but several. I think. and I can be wrong. that these are tapes from old models. Other sources sell this tape as the DVC60PRR model and say "Formerly DVM60PR, DVM60PR3, DVM60PRL". This is DVM60PRL. The packaging is also different. Again, I could be wrong. They're good value and - if you're a Revain Prime member - free shipping (sort of) (you pay for Revain Prime, but if you buy enough stuff from Revain, they pay for themselves). myโ€ฆ

SONY TAPE ALWAYS WORKS GREAT FOR ME

I have been in the television industry my entire career and we have always used Sony professional cameras. A long time ago I decided that I like Sony quality. I've tried all sorts of mini DV tapes and for the money you can't beat Sony! I often had crashes and glitches with other brands, and sometimes they just weren't recognized by the professional camera or didn't track well, getting stuck and causing all sorts of problems. The Maxwell cassettes are the worst and the Panasonic aren't muchโ€ฆ

Tapes are shorter than traditional DVMs.

For some reason these tapes are every two minutes shorter than what I usually get when I order a Sony DVM. Typically the tapes read 60 minutes from the time code in the camera, but there is actually a little extra time left giving you around 61 or 62 minutes. This isn't usually a problem, but I'm recording for an hour and can't guarantee it'll last an hour when the timecode says 58 minutes, so I'm a bit stuck. I don't know if the manufacturer is trying to save money by cutting off two minutesโ€ฆ

Good quality at a good price

We only use Sony MiniDV tapes in our professional devices. We've tried others (JVC, Panasonic, etc.) but have had the most luck and fewer errors with Sony tapes. Others may be cheaper, but it's just not worth the risk of losing an important shot for a client because we're sacrificing the film. Also, as a warning, be careful when buying "premium" HD tapes from places like eBay. I think some of them must be fake as we bought some and they were awful (constant error messages on the camera sayingโ€ฆ

I trust them for data cartridges

Be careful who you get them from. I purchased these from Continental Supply (through Revain) and received 10 individual bands in a box of 30, unwrapped. For real? Do you send me fragile items with small pieces of plastic in a big box and just have them knocked together? There is no excuse for that. But these are the tapes I use to show the student TV program at the university. For my part, I hate mini ICEs, but we have to use what they give us. But since I have to use them, I buy them everyโ€ฆ

Professional Videographer Workhorse Tape

Some video technicians say that you should never use another brand of tape if you use another brand of tape in your VCR because oils and metals are different brands . To be honest I don't know if that's true or not but I know these tapes are great and I would recommend them to anyone who uses a VCR. When I make videos, I use them a lot. . When I'm busy it's not uncommon to use over 20 tapes a week. I'll never use them again so keeping costs down and finding them locally is important to meโ€ฆ

There's nothing wrong with them

Well to be completely honest I didn't want to write this review because this is a simple cartridge that you put in a camcorder and record video and no problems. I've ordered this brand and so far I've had no problems recording or playing them. I record in HDV with an HDR FX7 camcorder and have never had a problem with it. I like to keep all the originals, so I have over 20 tapes. It may not sound like much but it is to me. I can play a 2-3 year old tape and it works great. One thing I noticedโ€ฆ
