Serious bang for the buck!

I have never spent a lot of money on headphones for the simple reason that I wear them as I use them every day at the gym; I usually spend $50, so I always measure my expectations. That really surprised me; I saw a person watching it on Youtube and based on their excellent rating I decided to take a chance. I'm glad I did. I've never had headphones with such bass depth or clarity. I would pay at least twice as much for this quality. In fact, I love them so much I've just posted and ordered 2…

Good all round headphones with plenty (but not too much) bass

For reference I have a set of AKG K240 studio headphones that I use in my home studio so I've heard some decent headphones. These Sony headphones aren't of this caliber, but they're also slightly cheaper. These headphones sound pretty good. I don't listen to much hip hop, techno or pop music. Mostly hard rock and metal, some classic rock, some industrial and so on. But I like good bass. These are full. In fact, I run 60Hz on the EQ at almost 0 boost where other headphones usually go pretty…

It sounds like everyone is very far away and so are they.

It's clear why Sony discontinued these headphones. You sound terrible! I just got them in the mail, opened them up and plugged them into my iPad to listen. The sound is very dull and heavy! It sounds like everything is very far away and like they are another cover over the ear pads, making the sound very muddy and fuzzy. I wasn't expecting five star sound quality from a pair of 30.00 headphones, but I did expect to be able to hear cleaner sound. I am extremely disappointed. I ONLY bought to…

Ideal for bass lovers, otherwise keep looking.

I bought them at a discount. I've been using them almost daily for the last month as a second pair always connected to my MP3 player. My main computer headphones are also Sony and I was looking for a replacement so I bought them. However, I will keep looking. 3 stars because of not very good mids and highs. But if you love bass, you'll love this $30. Sound: I have read the reviews and they are all correct that they are BASS HEAVY. The only way to comfortably listen to my music was to adjust the

The best headphones I've ever had!

I've had many headphones over the years, starting with Koss and Sennheiser models from the 1970's and 80's. I've always been a fan of in-ear headphones because the headphones hurt my ears after an hour or two. I've never felt the need to spend more than $50 on a pair because I never had to. Thankfully, the headphone renaissance of recent years has improved the choices available, but also created a market for models that cost $150 just because they look cool, or $300 for noise-cancelling models.

Pros
  • Slim, foldable body with swivel mechanism for compact storage

Just as good as Dr. Dre, but 20% cheaper

I have a pair of very expensive beats from Dr. Dre for my brother and I think the sound quality on these headphones is as good or better than the Dr. Dre, about 20% cheaper. The Beats headphones came with a nice travel case and detachable/swappable cables allowing you to choose between a built in mic and volume control for your phone or MP3 player, or a simple straight cable for DJing. I wish these headphones came with a travel case because I plan to use them when DJing and also as monitor…
