To be honest, when I first got it I thought it was fake. This is NOT the best of my (extensive) research - what is done is that the Sony player is missing a specific cable; The companies that make these cables buy legitimate Sony products, put the cable in a bag (like this one) and sell them as their own kits. From a technical point of view, this product lacks music CD control. Considering the price, it's too expensive for a standard definition DVD player. I chose this to watch some old movies I have on DVD. It's basically my favorite 300 DVD movie that I don't have in any other digital format other than DVD for some reason.
