Great sound, easy button pairing but no additional input

I'm pretty picky about my Bluetooth speakers and usually choose Anker products, but when I got the Wirecutter Speed Sony SRS speaker saw -XB33 is so good that I decided to try it. Long story short, I was so impressed with the first one I bought that I bought a second one so I could put it in "party mode" and use two at the same time. The sound is excellent: full, rich, with decent bass for such a small device. The software app is pretty crude and has the frustrating limitation of not…

XB33 - not loud enough (Sony please post your specs)

The sound quality of this speaker is good and the blinking lights feel nice. However, it's not nearly loud enough for my purpose. At full volume with my phone set to maximum, the speaker just fills the 12x10 interior. As it is intended to be used in PWC where it needs to overcome engine noise I'm not sure it will be loud enough. I suspected this would happen when Sony refused to discuss specs like SPL or performance and compare them to the competition. Unfortunately I have waited over a week…

Portable Bluetooth Speakers Worth Upgrading

In the past I've bought speakers for $100 or less, but I decided I wanted to get richer sound from my portable speaker, so I invested in the XB43. I'm glad I did as the sound quality compared to cheaper speakers is worth it. The size of the XB43 is quite large compared to what I had before. It's just over a meter long and quite heavy. I think that's what you need to get good sound. The XB43 connects quickly to my laptop or phone after switching it on. So far I've used my speaker for over 10…

  • Decent Performance

Great sound, easy button pairing but no extra input

I'm pretty picky about my Bluetooth speakers and usually use Anker products, but when I saw Wirecutter praise the Sony SRS-XB33 speaker I decided I try to give him one.
