I'm impressed so far.

I was skeptical about these but so far I'm impressed with how easy they are to apply. Only time will tell how they do in the long run. One bit of advice is to use a heat gun instead of an open flame. The shrink tube can melt quickly if you expose it to flame too long. I got much better results using the heat gun that a lighter or torch. But yeah, I'll buy these again - soon.

Pros
  • Like easy to use
Cons
  • The product may not be as reliable as other options, leading to potential issues with wiring

I've tried a heat gun, a soldering iron (pulling that out kind of defeats the purpose of these things) and a lighter. I too find it next to impossible to get the solder to melt before the tube itself is destroyed. I thought this would be an easier alternative to soldering and using shrink tubing. It is not. It takes longer and the end result is iffy at best. The tube shrank, but did the solder melt? I can't tell. I pull the wires and they come apart. I have to strip and try again. Yea! The…

Who knew soldering was so easy?

I really like these self soldering heat shrink connectors. I have used them for various wiring projects on my F250 pickup, from installing light bars to installing a new sound system. They have worked for me every time. First I slipped the connector over one of the wires. Then I wove the wire ends together and slipped the connector over the wire ends so that the metal ring in the center of the connector was centered over the wire splice. I then heated the connector with a heat gun, moving it…

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • The product may not be as easy to install as other options, leading to potential installation errors

Works but. in my review

As an Engineer I found this to be a great idea so I tested it out on a piece of wire which I stripped and twisted together. I slid one of the red shrink sleeves over the joint then used a lighter, and after a few seconds of moving the flame back and forth, the solder seemed to melt and it looked to be a good connection. Then I tried pulling it apart and the connection failed.I then tried again, but this time I dipped the stripped ends of the wire in Flux which is a very necessary part of the…

Pros
  • Ensures a clean and professional-looking installation
Cons
  • The product may not be as reliable in extreme weather conditions, leading to potential issues with wire damage

Great product with a little learning curve

It was my first time using these and overall they're a great product. The included sizes worked great for my car audio application where I was connecting 2-3 22-18ga wires.I used my Wagner heat gun to shrink and solder, which worked well overall. There was a bit of a learning curve, some tips or instructions would have been welcome. The biggest issue I had was the solder would take long enough to melt that the heat shrink would start to melt thru a bit exposing some of the wire connection. Not…

Pros
  • Each connector is color-coded and labeled, making it easy to identify and use
Cons
  • The product may not be suitable for use in areas with high levels of bending, leading to potential issues with exposed wiring

Very Handy - my new review

I'm not really sure about the water resistance since my uses so far haven't really tested that aspect. But, having these around makes small wire repair quicker, somewhat easier, much more compact, and probably a just as water resistant than other methods such as wire nuts and Plasti Dip and probably a lot more water resistant than a "Western Union pigtail" and electrical tape. It does take some practice to get good at applying the heat with a heat gun to liquify the solder without over-melting…

Pros
  • ♥ EXCELLENT WIRE CONTACT - The tin barrel provides increased current flow, and ensures less voltage drop, preventing wiring failures and reducing equipment downtime.
Cons
  • The connectors may not be as secure as other options, leading to potential issues with loose connections

It really works.: my feedback

I bought this for my stereo system install. WOW. This really works great. In fact so good that I bought another kit. Thanks for attention!

Pros
  • Easy to use and looks good
Cons
  • The product may cause interference with other electrical systems due to poor shielding

Center does not completely melt.

Used product to wire thin 24 gauge led wire to a 16 guage lead. The connection was very strong after I let the connector cool. Use a good heat gun and take your time. You will see the metal mix with the wires for a good connection.

Pros
  • These connectors are convenient to use.
Cons
  • The product may not be suitable for high voltage applications due to its limited insulation properties

Patience is required using these

I've used this type of solder heat shrink connector (different brand) in the past and they were not this difficult. These are very finicky to use. Easy to split the shrink wrap before the solder melts. I started out trying to use my heat gun (1800w adjustable). But could not get the solder to melt enough to actual hold the wires together. Moved on to the trusty torch. This is where patience and using something else besides your have to hold the wire. I found that if I hold heat far enough away…

Pros
  • Comes with a user-friendly guide, providing step-by-step instructions
Cons
  • The product may not be suitable for use in systems with high precision requirements

Saved me time! good for me

I have 12 volt recessed lighting in basement; dozens of corroded ceramic sockets. Changing the bulbs and cleaning were no help (MR16's with straight pins). I bought replacement sockets and because of the low voltage and dampness, I was planning to solder all these, on a ladder, with very short pigtails in the ceiling fixture (can). I bought these connectors as I wanted solder and heat shrink. My first connection I tried a flame (butane) but that was too much heat. I switched to hot air gun, and

Pros
  • Sopoby ensures excellent customer service and support, making sure that every customer is satisfied with their purchase
Cons
  • The connectors may not be suitable for use in systems with high noise levels

Skeptical at first, but great!

I was skeptical at first but I thought what the hell I'll give him a try. I needed to rewire a engine wiring harness. I thought that these may save me some time and they definitely did. HERE'S MY 2 CENTS. Slide one of the wires in half way, the heat that end so the heat shrink tube closes but make sure you don't active the solder. Now that end and wire is held in place. All you need to do is put in the other wire and finish. Super easy.

Pros
  • Offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee, ensuring customer confidence and peace of mind
Cons
  • The product may not be suitable for use in systems with high sensitivity to electromagnetic interference

way easy to use--even easier than crimp connectors

Based on all the good reviews, I went out on a limb, and tried something new; and I'm glad I did. I replaced an old lightbulb fixture with an led panel, and used these heat shrink connectors to connect the jumpers to the ballasts wiring, and to the home wiring, and everything worked on the first try! Because the heat shrink connectors are clear, you can see that the exposed ends of both wires are crossing inside the solder ring, and then you heat it up and you can see the solder contract into…

Pros
  • Provides a strong and secure seal, preventing wires from slipping out of place
Cons
  • The product may not be as environmentally friendly as other options, leading to potential ecological issues
