The cable in this kit is not a 8G power cable, the plastic around the 12G cable you receive makes the cable much larger inside, now the ground wire was also just a 12G cable, nothing special, just be yourself aware that you need 8G power in general combined with 6G mass, this kit gives you 12G in each part.

I bought this unit to be financially responsible despite reading other reviews. I am installing a subwoofer with a 200w amp and it will work. BUT, don't believe for a second that this is a real 8 gauge amp kit. It's possible that the outside diameter of the power and ground wire is 8 gauge, but the actual wire isn't even close to that. I have installed all types of stereo in my cars and friends' cars for 25 years and also had a professional install it so I know exactly what 8 gauge looks like…
