Review on 🎵 Sound Storm Labs AKS8 8 Gauge Car Audio Amp Kit with Installation Wires, Cables, and RCA Interconnect: Complete Wiring Package for Enhanced Audio Performance by Robert Howell

I bought this unit to be financially responsible despite reading other reviews. I am installing a subwoofer with a 200w amp and it will work. BUT, don't believe for a second that this is a real 8 gauge amp kit. It's possible that the outside diameter of the power and ground wire is 8 gauge, but the actual wire isn't even close to that. I have installed all types of stereo in my cars and friends' cars for 25 years and also had a professional install it so I know exactly what 8 gauge looks like and what quality looks like (JL, Focal, Pioneer Premier, JBL, Rockford, Kenwood, Alpine, MTX, etc.). The speaker wire is very thin, but I'm using it as a line-in, so I'm not too worried; Stock car speaker wire is probably 2 times thicker. The speaker wire is also barely long enough to go from my spare tire to each tailgate (small SUV), so don't be fooled into thinking you'll be stretching the whole car to them. The fuse holder is very brittle and the plastic is cracked. when installed, but could be saved. Ironically they offer a huge fuse for the current rating that these wires can never handle - my subwoofer has its own fuse so it doesn't bother me. If you are installing an amp of 200w or less this might work for you. too, but I wouldn't buy it again. Installation troubleshooting isn't worth the $50 you save on a better kit.
