🔧 P1TOOLS Spark Plug Gap Tool Gapper Gauge - Accurately Measure Spark Plug Gap from .020" to .100 Review

I didn't end up using it but I'll probably need it one day so I'm keeping it. But the product really matches the description, so here we go.

I wish I had had this gap decades ago when auto spark plugs lasted less than 10,000 miles and I made my own adjustments. Bought this for my backup generator (Hurricane) which requires a spark plug check every 100 hours - hopefully never to be used :)

Splitting Tool Worked as advertised. Increasing the spacing is really easy, but as a beginner I accidentally made the spacing too big and found it to be much more difficult to decrease it. User error, no problem with the tool.

Disappointed but not surprised by poor Chinese made tolerances. I spent an hour using a diamond file and a micrometer to refine this gauge. If I had known about the Chinese production, I would have reconsidered this purchase.

Measurement is ok but part of the opening tool doesn't look like the picture above; There is no edge, making it impossible to increase the gaps by .024 for closely spaced spark plugs like Ruthenium HXs without touching/damaging the tip.

Easy to check the gap and decrease the gap by simply pressing the tip of the fork. I agree with other reviews that it is difficult to use a tapered bore used to widen the gap. It's not an indicator, the important thing was to measure the distance and if I have to use a small screwdriver to increase it, it's fine.
