SparkFun PID 13906 Multiplexer Breakout Review

This multiplexer is excellent for managing multiple surveillance cameras in a cost-efficient manner. It can easily be interfaced with other electronics and has A ton of applications in security and surveillance systems... The compact design saves space and makes it easy to install. The only potential downside is that it requires some programming knowledge to operate effectively, but that's the case with many electronics products..

Thanks to my knowledge gained in practice, this product was a complete disappointment .It does not perform as advertised and caused more issues than solutions. The only pro is that it WAS easy to install. The biggest con is that it completely failed in providing reliable surveillance. I would not recommend wasting money on this product..

This is useful in several applications. In the mine, the "ground” switches between the eight contacts contained in the computer. It can also be used to switch eight analog inputs to an A/D converter. The three pins and the enable determine which of the eight pins the common pin switches to. Since it's CMOS, the supply voltage can only be 2 volts, which is important because the computer can supply 3.3 volts but not 5 volts.
