Confusing But Good - Computer Accessories & Peripherals

Mine came with detailed instructions - in Chinese (or other figurative language). So I had to experiment. There are two connectors - one for your computer's speaker/headphone output and the other for your computer's microphone input. There are four connectors.1. Insert the headphone plug into the headphone jack on the computer2. Plug your headphones into the headphone jack on your device3. Connect an external speaker to the speaker port on the device4. Turn the volume control all the way up…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Works great, no loss of sound quality and another little bonus.

I bought this because the headphone jack on my computer was broken and I didn't want to buy a new case or climb behind the tower every time I want to use headphones. Works perfectly! Plug it into the back of your computer and switch between two outputs (one for speakers, one for headphones) with the push of a button. There is absolutely no loss of sound quality when switching. It even has a volume control, which I don't necessarily find useful since I control the volume with the operating…

The sound quality depends on the quality of the peripheral devices.

I bought this product after reading some noise reviews. I installed it and it worked fine when switching between PC speakers and headphones/mic. However, I did hear a hum that seemed to increase over time, particularly in the mic feed, which caused real problems on the other end of calls like Zoom. However, after some troubleshooting, I found that the ringer was being caused by a poor POWER SUPPLY to my speakers, which was causing a hum through my media switch (I had a USB powered supply that…

  • Great for me

No Hiss Now (was only due to pilot error)

I bought this to replace a 10 year old Radio Shack I was finally getting tired of constantly pushing/pulling the headphone jack until it was accurate was in the right place allowing both ears of the headset to play sound. The plug should be pulled out about 1/16 inch from its secure position. Given the price of his Manhattan device, it was worth seeing if I could get rid of that annoyance. I was initially disappointed with this device because the noise from the speaker or headphones was…

Works as advertised; Not as durable - 3.6 year report updated

PURCHASED in 2015; Overview UPDATED July 2019 ==================================== ORIGINAL REVIEW: This thing works. I wanted the device to allow switching between headset and speakers and couldn't find a device that did just that. This switching node was closest. Why do gadget designers feel they need to add tons of extra features to their gadgets? Why can't we find simple gadgets that just do what we need and do it well? In addition to the audio output switch, this Manhattan switching hub…
