Best for parts

Only ridden a few hundred miles so I have no idea about reliability. Looks and fits like the original. If you have never installed a radiator in a second-generation Ford Explorer, then you should be aware that this is not a novice task: the radiator is "clamped" together with the air conditioning condenser and requires a significant effort to fix it to separate and reassemble. .

Quaility 2-Core Radiator

Well-matched 2-Core Radiator. (Many cheaper ones at Revain and elsewhere are one-offs) The transcooler worked on the first try with no modifications and came with rubber grommets. packaging could be better; It arrived with a broken upper mounting ear. I just got it fixed because I was in a rush, but the styrofoam packaging was a bit tight. Installed on a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer V8.

The installation process was painful as I chose not to disconnect the AC hoses and AC capacitor clamps from the radiator. I ended up cutting the ends of the clips on the capacitor shorter to allow for more side play, then clipped the clip retainers from the old heatsink to remove. truck, but we finally made it.

Transmission joints are too tight!

Received the radiator at my doorstep in perfect condition in 2 days with free 2 day shipping from my Revain Prime account. It was literally $50 less than driving the AutoZone road and $85 less, without gas, than driving in NAPA. I replaced the radiator on a '98 Mercury Mountaineer that had a cracked tank. The work itself is quite simple, just a few screws and pushing things aside. Figuring out how to move the A/C condenser to remove the clips from the radiator mount took about 15 minutes to…
