🛢️ Spectra ST183 Fuel Tank Strap Review

I bought this tape for a 2007 Chevy 2500HD. The size seems slightly wrong. The main question I have is how thin the metal for this bracelet is compared to the original movement. I would recommend a thicker belt. Rather spend a few euros more and get the original.

The straps appear to be of a lighter quality than the original and the strap was not an exact replica of the standard straps for bends etc. It is also possible that an original strap was broken, which made installing the replacement very difficult, but we had to use a longer bolt than the original one and two sockets to get the belt close enough to tighten.

I've been trying all day to swap these straps but it didn't work. The screw did not reach the nut. I watched a few videos and one suggested longer screws. I took screws with a full thread M10x1.5x70mm and then it took me 10 - 15 minutes. If you can find a full 75mm thread it might be easier.

My original mounting brackets on my 2002 Silverado 1500 are rusted. They are very easy to install and I'm not a car enthusiast. Each fastened with a screw, the second side is inserted into the groove. However, they are not ideal. Looks about 1/2 inch narrower and also 1/2 inch shorter. But they work and I believe in their power. Definitely cheaper than buying in store.

It took an insane amount of time to actually install it in my 99ft Silverado. One of them, the back one I think, seemed too short to be right. I ended up welding a piece to make them a little longer. In addition, they are usually uncoated and have no sleeve. The original GMs have a sleeve and are still rusty. I covered them in hopes they would last longer.

Purchased for a 2007 Silverado, there are two different mounts on the truck. I got two exactly the same so basically had to cut a bend all over the back one fitted perfectly but the front was too big like I said there are two different mounts and I got two that fit the Tank were not sure if it was a shipping mix up or if they meant I had to build my own but for the price I don't think I should have built my own
