My new favorite headset!

I've been copying for more years than I can tell you. I've always used 3.5mm headphones and found them good. This type of USB offers much better sound quality. I am impressed. Transcription headphones don't have to be the most expensive. They are made for listening to music. They are ideal for transcribing voices. I recommend them unconditionally to transcriptionists and also recommend them to my transcription students.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

The sound is very accurate for transcription and they are comfortable to wear for a long time, which is very important when you are writing a large text or manuscript. For those who buy them, the only downside is their lightness (not fragile, but definitely fragile), making them less durable than some other headsets. So for people who don't care about the technology, it breaks more easily than we would like. However, they are of excellent quality for the job.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Makes me worried

IT WORKS GREAT - Computer Headsets

This headset is the best I have ever used. I've been transcribing with a lot of fonts for 30 years, love love love this font. I chose this company because they offered a USB kit and my new computer required USB. It was my luck as it made me try Spectra which I couldn't be happier with. A review I saw before ordering my set said she had an earache and I didn't. The quality is great, the sound is great and I can even hear the dictators muttering/mumbling. Thanks to Spectra for this headset.

My Favorite Audio & Video Accessories

I'm a medical transcriptionist and I have to listen to doctors dictating over a speakerphone in noisy environments during meals, even when they're at children's swimming competitions. Many dictate at incredible speed and we work with every conceivable accent. My work is extremely complex and these headsets have helped me a lot. They are best at hearing the doctor's voice and improving their diction to understand what they are really saying and I really like the little volume knob (I need it). I

Yes! Computer accessories and peripherals

I am a beginner in writing and used an invoice, but I did not like the quality at all. General. This view under the chin is of great importance. The sound quality is excellent and my production has definitely improved. Comfortable and doesn't compress my ears like noise canceling headphones. I sometimes forget I have headphones on! I googled what experienced typists recommend and found this. I'm glad I did.

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • The form is not required

Perfect for typists, simple, easy, does the job!

This is my second Spectra USB transcription headset - the first lasted just over 8 years at 40+ hours a week! (The right speaker on my first pair died, so technically I can still use them, but the sound is only coming from one side). I do notice that the wiring is a bit thicker than my old Spectra headset and the volume control feels like the buttons are a little better quality - it's hard to describe, but they feel more responsive/substantial, but feel identical to. On my old Spectra I had to…

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Hard to remember but it was

I bought this headset to transcribe interviews at 2-3 parties, in person and over the phone. Recording quality can vary widely, so good sound balance is essential to help speakers stand out against background noise. It doesn't deliver the sound richness of the WordSmith headset, but it is clearer. I'm willing to take the opportunity to listen instead of making things sound nicer every day. I get clarity due to poor reception and background noise. Spectra shines brightest when spoken at the same

Pros
  • Few competitors

  • unreliable

I can't sit here and type in such pain all day.

I was glad to get them but unfortunately they hurt. Strange right? After about an hour my ears start to hurt from the pressure. Since you can't adjust the headset, they feel too tight and even dangle under the chin. It could also be the weight of the cable with the volume knob putting pressure on my inner ear, but it hurts. Unfortunately I have to send them back. I can't sit here and type in such pain all day.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Perfect for decrypting

I did some decryption work online for extra money and my regular headphones didn't work very well. I got these headphones on a whim and transcription just got a whole lot easier! They make sounds much clearer than music headphones, and the clip volume makes it much easier to match the tone from transcription to transcription. The clip holding the cord to the garment broke almost immediately, but that didn't matter with the larger scheme.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Wait a long time
