Spectre Performance Valve Cover Clamp Review

bought this clamp and a tall valve cover. This clip only works if you loop (MOD). $6.99 cheaper than the $20 Felpro version. Although worth it.

These chrome clips have a hard chrome finish and look great. Good price for a quality product. Clamps are over 4 inches long to ensure even valve cover pressure on the gasket surface.

Good chrome plating on steel. If anyone wants to use them on something other than SBC, here are the approximate measurements: Length: 4-7/8 inches; regular width: 13/32"; hole width: 3/4"; Thickness: 9/64 inch; Hole diameter: 5/16". Made in China.

They are quite thick and strong - well made. They do what they were designed to do - distribute the load from the valve cover bolt through the valve cover. Especially useful for valve covers that only use 4, 5 or 6 bolts and some extra pressure is welcome.

I overlooked it and bought a pack instead of two, you need one pack per valve cover. and for every V8 that means two valve covers. I've put them at the bottom of each envelope, but I'll have to order another pack later. They work fine. They are thicker than the original clamps and using thicker silicone gaskets may require longer bolts.

These clamps distribute the load on the rocker cover bolt (or the T-handle clamps I bought with them) to evenly clamp the rocker cover gasket without deforming the bolt location, which is a common cause of this Oil ingress is a leak. They are really strong and have replaced everything but the 2 original clips which are very close to the corner of the rocker cover on this engine so these clips protruded too far over the edge of the cover in 2 out of 6 places but otherwise a quality part I think…
