SpeeCo S16100600 GL161006 Prevents Sagging Installation Review

This is a very good wheel but difficult to install if your tubular gates have mesh. I wish I had known before buying. I was able to install but had to cut out the heavy mesh to make room for the wheel mount. The description may also have indicated how far it protrudes from the gate, but I must have missed that. I spent a lot of time cutting off part of the latch to make room for the wheel. Installed after 2 hours of work and works perfectly.

It's a simple device and it works well. While this unit is designed for welded gates, my gates are assembled with corner pieces that clamp to horizontal and vertical beams and they are not entirely compatible with the wheel clamp. I was able to attach it but not as intended so there was a gap between the knuckle and the steel wheel clamp. To keep the wheel from tipping over I put a screw in the gap at the top and it worked great to keep it straight.

For the price and ease of donning, yes I'll buy it again. That's a little disappointing, although I think it would be fine for a small goal. I had problems with nuts and bolts keeping it in place and holding immediately as it weathered. The wheel itself weathered and the axle broke a few years later. Not the use I would expect from an animal/farm product. For something indoors, this will likely take forever. With exterior gates on gravel expect to eventually be replaced which as said is doable…

I've had the previous wheel for at least two years and when it broke I replaced it with what I thought was exactly the same. It is clear that this is not the case. I've only had it a few months and now it's bent and very wobbly and difficult to install. quickly. After a few weeks it has become so warped that the gate can no longer be opened or closed without a struggle and again I know I need to replace it. I find a new brand or manufacturer because it's ridiculous.
