Description of SpeedPlay 61200 Speedplay Zero_Chromoly Walkable

PRECISION CARTRIDGE AND NEEDLE BEARINGS: Three instead of two allows the Zero to be thinner for a lower stack height, better cornering clearance, and reduced aerodynamic drag. Like all Speedplay Pedal Systems, the locking edges of Zero pedals and cleats are metal-on-metal for durability and safety. YOUR CHOICE OF MICRO-ADJUSTABLE FLOAT OR A FIXED POSITION: Zero rotational float to be precisely micro-adjusted to the range needed or set in a fixed-position anywhere within the 15-degree range. ALL THREE FOOT-AXIS ADJUSTMENTS CAN BE SET INDEPENDENTLY OF ONE ANOTHER: Unlike the set-up of traditional cleats, each of the three critical foot-axis adjustments of Zero Walkable Cleats can be set or changed without affecting the position of the other two adjustments. THE LOWEST STACK HEIGHT: The Zero Walkable Cleat positions your foot closer to the top of the spindle for improved power transfer (8.5MM stack height for 4-hole, 11.5mm for 3-hole).

Type of review

I've been using Speedplays for a long time. Some time ago I had to walk a kilometer and a half home with a walking version. Aside from a few minor scuffs, the lids were in good condition and still work perfectly.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Blank

Watch out for shoes that are too small

I've been using Speedplay pedals for almost 30 years, but certainly not from scratch. Unfortunately I have to send the pedals back. I've previously had 2 different mechanics install Speedplay pedals but we couldn't get my boot/foot to work no matter what we did. Although they say all Sidi shoes will fit, I would be wary if your shoes are under a size 40.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Just as good as the previous model Speedplay Zero.

The pedals were just as good as the old pedals. (As the mechanics are the same, I expected this.) The yellow caps were very difficult to install, so I lost one and had to buy an extra set of spikes to get a replacement cap. I believe you can order replacement covers but I needed a cover immediately. I recommend pedals, just be sure to fully install the covers. If the yellow covers are installed correctly, they will not fall off.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • ---

If you could help me please let me know! An avid CAT4 road cyclist is quite critical. I've used Speed Play pedals on 4 of my bikes, but this is the only spike I can't snap into! (video included) Pros: - Light weight - Dual clip options - Comes with cleat and pedal! Cons: I feel like they sent me the wrong pedals or I can't fit them with the Zero. My other shoes use the SpeedPlay X series

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Very Expensive

Zero Aero Walkable Spikes Are Poorly Designed

Zero Aero Walkable Spikes Don't Last Long. The rubber cap will fall, trust me. The old boots were much better. I think it's possible that Speedplay designed them so that you have to buy running rubber several times a year and make money from it. My tip: If you only need a boot for a second pair of shoes or as a replacement for old shoes, go for an older model without Speedplay. Unfortunately, Speedplay no longer sells them.

Pros
  • Very Good Value
Cons
  • Repair

Unsafe product - too tight!

Extremely disappointed with this product. The spikes are just too tight. I even loosened them up, added Speedplay's own dry lube and practiced pulling them on and off 40 times on each side (160 clips total!) to wear them and they were still too tight to safely put them on while riding. and undress. . You would think that for the price they would add a feature that allows you to tighten or loosen them. I'm 5ft 3" and 120 and getting into them on a bike was almost impossible. I do not recommend.

Pros
  • Hands Free
Cons
  • Unsure

They help my son a lot with cycling. He now uses them for 3 training rides and claims they have greatly reduced his knee pain. That's a great effect and we're looking forward to it continuing like this. The reason they can have this effect is because of the increased amount of "floating" that this type of pedal system allows, more than other typical pedal/cleat systems. The installation was a little tricky, but he followed the instructions exactly and got a good result. work is done. One thing:

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure

Disappointing terrible design!

Long story short, my experience with these pedals was horrible! I'm a relatively short person (120 pounds) and have never been able to lock these pedals. The design is terrible, the spring that's supposed to hold you in is very stiff with no room for adjustment so you can't dial in how hard or soft the engagement is. Shoe head screws are very small and if you keep tightening them you will push against the spring making it even more difficult for your shoe to lock, but if you apply a small…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Vulgarity
