Description of ๐Ÿšด Stainless Steel Speedplay Zero Pedals with Walkable Cleats

PRECISION CARTRIDGE AND NEEDLE BEARINGS: Three instead of two allows the Zero to be thinner for a lower stack height, better cornering clearance, and reduced aerodynamic drag. Like all Speedplay Pedal Systems, the locking edges of Zero pedals and cleats are metal-on-metal for durability and safety. DUAL-SIDED ENTRY: The symmetrical double-sided pedal self-locates just by stepping down into the cleat whether the pedal is right side up, upside down or anywhere else in its rotation. No kicking, no fumbling, no looking; just step down and go. YOUR CHOICE OF MICRO-ADJUSTABLE FLOAT OR A FIXED POSITION: Zero rotational float to be precisely micro-adjusted to the range needed or set in a fixed-position anywhere within the 15-degree range. ALL THREE FOOT-AXIS ADJUSTMENTS CAN BE SET INDEPENDENTLY OF ONE ANOTHER: Unlike the set-up of traditional cleats, each of the three critical foot-axis adjustments of Zero Walkable Cleats can be set or changed without affecting the position of the other two adjustments. THE LOWEST STACK HEIGHT: The Zero Walkable Cleat positions your foot closer to the top of the spindle for improved power transfer (8.5MM stack height for 4-hole, 11.5mm for 3-hole).

Easy to assemble like the SPD with a platform that's easy on my feet!

Good pad and after a short break-in period it's much easier to insert than SPD-SL or Looks! Just as light as SPD but with a firm contact surface so I don't have hot spots on my feet. Very happy with these pedals so I bought a second set to ride a different bike. The adjustable float is odd, but my knees don't complain after a few hundred miles.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Doubtful

Squeaky. I have had many pairs of these pedals on various bikes for myself and my family - these are the first loud ones I have had. I ended up removing the plastic walking pads and that helped a lot, but I still have to spray them with silicone once a week to avoid annoying noise.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Speedplay Zero Pedal System

My husband and I have been using Speedplay pedals for over 15 years. Never had a problem installing pedals until last week when the Zero pedals arrived. My husband showed me the problem that the distance between the screw holes in the bottom plate (front and back) was too small compared to the metal bottom plate. Try as he might, he couldn't line up the holes without removing at least one of the screws holding the metal backing plate in place. He had to grind down the metal backplate to fit the
