Will not fit 1979 Jeep CJ7 Dana 30 axles

Same story as the guy above who posted about them not fitting his XJ axles. I actually ordered Moog 365 U hinges and they fit. Most sizes are similar, the difference I found is highlighted in the attached photo. Good luck, comrades.

Perfect replacement

Great factory replacement for the gimbal on my 1994 Jeep Wrangler with a Dana 30 front axle. Remember there are 2 different sizes that Revain says work. Older Jeep Wranglers use a smaller gimbal (Spicer 5-260X). Newer trucks use the much larger Spicer 5-760X. Check before ordering.

The U-joint fits well after my mistake.

I managed to install the U-joint with a small insert of a brass hammer. Initially the hinge seemed too wide for the short end of my '84 Jeep Dana, after a few successful hammer blows the hinge popped right in. dismantling.

Spicer is Junk: Gearbox and Transmission

I run a jeep company in the national park, so I have a lot of jeeps and toyotas. and have a pretty deep knowledge of what works and what doesn't. Spicer ujoints no! I last installed these 5-260x crosses 3 years ago on a 92 XJ. This rig has only traveled 17,000 miles since then. I'm this beautiful Cherokee's baby, but you know what? I'll change axles. Spicer got my last dollar!

These are the strongest U-joints I've ever used. Come on Spicer!

disappears This is a real deal. I ride the YJ off-road and on the water quite a bit. I used to replace the front axle U-joints (other brands not named) once or twice a year just because I use the Jeep and the U-joints are exposed. They've been around for two years and have survived some of the worst I can offer them. I was planning to replace them when changing wheel bearings, but they are still in perfect condition. Keep it up Spicer! Now that I know, I won't buy anything anymore.

Will not fit 1996 Cherokee XJ Dana 30

There is another comment that they do not fit on the axle. I couldn't mount them on the front axle of my 1996 Cherokee XJ Dana 30. It looks like the area going from the cap to the center cross has more metal and will get stuck in the axle ears before the other side clears the opposite ear (see second pic, pencil indicates thicker area, Moog U- joint below). It took a lot of frustration and "what am I doing wrong?". I even wanted to touch a few spots with a grinder or tap with a hammer, but I…
