Spin-X 100 12X CD-R: Premium Digital Audio Music Disc - 80min 700MB Shiny Silver Review

I bought it for my church - we record sermons. Some could not record the sermon - others failed to copy it. The ones that worked had a normal sound. The biggest problem is distinguishing the top from the bottom - they look the same unless you have a good eye and look very closely. I will not buy again. Spend the extra money and get reliable ones.

So ok they're silver no thrills. Out of the 100 in my first order, only 6 failed to use. Not bad for this money. I use them every day to download music. Ideal. I love them so much, this was my second order in 6 months. Simple solution, costs money, yes you get some discs that are not formatted but that goes for commercial discs too. I will order again. Note: the side of the record is on the side opposite the side with the correctly legible numbers.

I'm editing my first review as I've bought it twice already. As a musician, I record a lot on a "Phillips brand standalone CD recorder" and have used Memorex for many years. as they worked better than other brands. I use these discs to record master copies of my backing tracks. Lately I've been buying very expensive gold discs from MAM-A because other Sony commercial blanks I've used a lot in the past were starting to fail. So I tried Prodisc Spin-X and am very happy with the results. The discs reproduce exactly the sound I hear on my monitors after mixing and mastering.

I have used these CDs before and also the more expensive white version. They work perfectly for LP or cassette to CD transfers. I have an old spindle so I put it on it and can keep the recording side (green tint) straight. The only complaint would be the way they were shipped. Due to the displacement of the (heavy) panes during transport, the bottom of the box was almost torn. I ordered these discs for use in a TDK 2 disc recorder. It took some time to figure out which side was the recording side due to the glossy finish on both sides. I finally figured out that the little "Music CD-R" printed on the inside of the CD should face up. I was wondering if the permanent marker recording on these discs would interfere with playback, but it didn't cause any problems. These discs work great in my recorder.
