These are great shoes. I used them for the trail.

These are great shoes. I use them for trail running, hiking and mountaineering. They're very comfortable (no blistering) and have lasted way longer than I expected considering how many times and how many times I've used them. I bought them in April 2017, in May 2017 I took them for a 50 mile walk on the Pacific Crest Trail and have used them almost every day since then for trail running and hiking with my dog, including mud and Snow in New England. . It's now April 2018 and they still look and…

Pros
  • This shoe offers the durability and support you need for trail running and hiking.
Cons
  • Shoes may not be suitable for people who need extra arch support.

Smaller than normal 45

I should have ordered a larger size, for my normal size 45 it fits well. I can use it but it's not that convenient. But men, design and materials are really beautiful.

Pros
  • Perfect fit just need to see the time to wear the sole!!!
Cons
  • La Sportiva Akyra Black may not be comfortable for people with wider feet.

Otherwise great shoes

The front foot is not wide enough for stretching. Very tight and uncomfortable. Otherwise great shoes. Too bad they came in far.

Pros
  • Low weight, excellent stability and grip, comfortable cushioning.
Cons
  • The outsole can wear out quickly with frequent use, making it less durable.

good grip ..... the best in my rating

Works well as a hiking shoe. Excellent grip both up and down. The rubber sock is manufactured in such a way that it is unlikely to detach from the fabric. Live long enough, over 250 miles of rocky and muddy trails in Hawaii. I also used it to hike to Everest Base Camp with a 30lb backpack (not Sherpa). Pretty good support for packing, no blistering. Although these are Italian shoes, they are slightly wider than most European shoes and fit my American feet well.

Pros
  • I really love these shoes...fit, look, comfort
Cons
  • Shoes can take a while to break in, causing some discomfort on the first few runs.

Great hiking shoes for rocks

I live in Phoenix and travel across small rocks and shales - I've had Patagonia and La Sportiva (Raptor). This is the best hiking shoe ever. The Raptor is trail running and you can feel the rock beneath you through the sole of the shoe. It's not so much a runner - but you can walk in it. The sole is firm, like my previous Patagonia, but much lighter and more comfortable. Rock Grip is the best I've ever had. If you want a true trail runner—which is all you need to do on dirt or a tough pack—the…

Pros
  • Great
Cons
  • The shoes are not available in half sizes, which can make it difficult for some buyers to choose the right model.

Shoes that are too tight

These shoes are unusually tight and the heel sole is too soft compared to the rest of the sole, which makes it very unstable and can cause ankle rolling. I could not wear shoes for more than a few minutes without severe pain. Look elsewhere for quality trail running shoes, this is not it.

Pros
  • Fabric and synthetic
Cons
  • Small problems

First day with them but so far so good.

So far, so good. I wear 11.5 on Brooks and this 45 fits almost perfectly, although 45.5 could be better. Ready to go with great arch support and overpronation support. Update 2 days later. 45 is too small so I sent it back. 11.5 in Brooks fit well, I returned them and ordered 45.5 in another model and they fit well. The shoes are very comfortable and supportive, but the other model is $80 less.

Pros
  • GO THE DISTANCE - Durable, structured shoe ideal for distance runners; The Trail Rocker2 outsole provides natural support from heel to toe so you can keep going without tiring
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Best Trail Running Shoes

I'm a tall hiker, 6ft 2200lbs and mostly off road, over rocks and other debris. While not optimal for rock climbing (use heeled hiking boots), this shoe provides enough support and cushioning to be a reasonable replacement for hiking boots on a short hike. Trail where this shoe excels. Like a great trail runner, it offers good padding and support. It costs money. This is my second pair of La Sportiva shoes and both are excellent. For the true masters of trail running, this may seem heavy, but…

Pros
  • TOTAL CONTROL - Aggressive lugs combined with FriXion rubber and a Trail Bite heel provide traction on any surface, even when wet; Impact braking system for quick stops and descent control
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Still looking for a trail running shoe with motion control

I was looking for a trail running shoe with stabilization/motion control. I was an avid wearer of the beast of the creeks to walk the streets. I also wear orthotics in my shoes to correct pronation. I've ridden my Akyra about 30 miles and found that they don't give me the assist I need. I've noticed that my right boot tilts in slightly, which isn't good when I need structured support. I usually wear 10.5D and bought size 45EU which is 11.5. I did this so my orthotics would fit. I will continue…

Pros
  • Rubber outsole
Cons
  • Not sure

Wider version of the Ultra Raptor trail running shoe

Similar to the most popular Ultra Raptor trail running shoe, only with a wider toe box and a more durable profile. This shoe has great grip, fits well (buy one size up) and most importantly is wider than other La Sportiva trail running shoes. The toe box could be a few millimeters wider next to the pinky toe, but that's the only improvement needed. I wear them all day backpacking with 35lbs on my back, when we stop to camp everyone else switches from hiking boots to "hiking boots" and I walk in

Pros
  • FULL PROTECTION - FlexGuard units in the upper and MEMlex EVA and 2.4mm LaSpEVA cushioning protect the foot and ankle; Midsole cushioning for added comfort
Cons
  • Hard to say
